A proposal that has recently garnered popularity with our current Administration is to deploy the military to restore order and protect troubled cities. This article attempts to explain the rationale, implications, benefits, and risks associated with employing military personnel for domestic crime prevention. I will try to provide a balanced perspective to this complex and emotionally charged issue. Here’s how the letter begins: “The Social Security Administration is celebrating the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill , a landmark piece of legislation that delivers long-awaited tax relief to millions of older Americans.” I’ve been receiving Social Security for the past 12 years and before that I was the Representative Payee for my aging mother for 7 years in the ‘90s . I’m very familiar with the standard business, non-partisan governmental language used by SSA to communicate with its beneficiaries .
