A proposal that has recently garnered popularity with our current Administration is to deploy the military to restore order and protect troubled cities. This article attempts to explain the rationale, implications, benefits, and risks associated with employing military personnel for domestic crime prevention. I will try to provide a balanced perspective to this complex and emotionally charged issue. The Pros In cities where conventional law enforcement agencies find themselves underfunded or outgunned; military intervention may seem like a viable alternative.
